Cross and Crown CITY CHURCH was established by Evangelists Danny and Linda Morgan in July, 2010. Within six months of their first church service being held in a Hampton Inn motel conference room, they grew enough to purchase their present facilities. Dan and Linda serve as lead pastors of CITY CHURCH and directors of The Morgan Family Ministries, Inc. which is the parent organization of CROSS AND CROWN CITY CHURCH located in Newport, Kentucky.
CITY CHURCH is located in the heart of the city with a heart for the city. A city once known as Sin Town USA, Newport echos the sounds of the roaring 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Our prayer at CITY CHURCH is to be used by the Lord to help bring the City of Newport out of the darkness of the past into the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ. Pastor Morgan was brought up in Newport and rode his bicycle throughout the town as a child. His father, Rev. O.A. Morgan, built a great church and ministry in Newport and surrounding area. He and his ministry helped to plant seven other churches in the area that continue to be in operation today. Now CITY CHURCH gladly continues the vision and burden that he carried for this city and the area until his dying day.
CITY CHURCH is a Pentecostal church with strong emphasis on evangelical preaching and deeper commitment. We strongly encourage the Pentecostal experience and the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. Our services are filled with praise and worship. Our praise and worship band consists of piano and strings, drums, bass, guitar, sax and other horns, violin and other instruments but at times may be as simple as nothing but an acoustic guitar.
